i think i’m so tired that when i finally get to come home early, i all but conked out on my bed for 2/3 hours. haha! when i woke up i was at such as loss to what the time was and how i ended up there.

okae la, i think i’m still sleepy, shall sleep early today. tmr’s a long day because there’s a briefing to attend from 1030-1230, writing lesson at 1230 until 230, history from 230-430, tuition from 530-730, meeting ken and the rest from 8pm.

haha i dun wanna think about tmr. luckily thurs is a holiday for me. otherwise, i think i’ll just.. faint? LOL.

today during lit, we did Structuralism. don’t ask me what that is. just analyse the following photos.

so.. what can u analyse from this? yes, she’s trashy, but she’s trying to give a touch of elegance in her swimming costume with the gold played decoration near her shoulders?

why does she choose to wear a black coloured swim suit? that maybe she is trying to fit in with modern trend? i duno, can’t think of anything right now..

is there anything positive to say about her in the picture? could it be because she wears black to depict how she has sinned, and being in the pool symbolises that she’s baptisizing, to free herself from all her previous wrongdoings?

i don’t know if u believe it or not, but i seriously never intended to hurt. i was just being frank, perhaps tactless, yet my main point was to emphasise the fact that u’ll always be welcomed whenever u’re free to join us… nothing else. so i’m sorry that u took offence at what i said but i was never out to hurt ur feelings. if i were, i believe u wud have been able to tell whether or not my tone was spiteful…

enough of depressing talk. i think today was a pretty great day even tho wenxiang had to leave halfway with me from iluma just as we were abt to start our shopping for cny clothes. he was extremely unwell so we went to his hse tgt for him to nap, while i read my book. abt 2 hrs later, it was 7+pm so we headed down to lot1 after dinner, where we knew ken and the rest would be, and had some fun hanging out tgt for a while. hehe.

i’m grateful for the friends i have now. they make my life complete. weekends is always what i look forward to, playing and chatting together. i think that’s sorta like the main gist of having friends. we’re a comfortable bunch of ppl doing simple things tgt. life isn’t perfect because we have our tiffs and squabbles at times, but ultimately it can always be resolved by some proper time-out and gentle explanation.

however,

ultimately, i know that no matter what, i still have dearie, and i am more than grateful for that. of course, kenneth too! hehe. i’m quite amazed and pleased when he said that my blogging style has got CLASS even tho it’s a bit chim sometimes. wheet! that’ll mean that i’m CLASSY!!

i think today is one of the happier days in my life even though i barely did anything. i think it was because i was looking forward to the end of school, to meet all my great friends at the arcade. i really miss ken, wenxuan, qianhui and wanqi super much! all my darlings! <3

but of course, i also miss dearie even tho i see him everyday, n i still miss him everynight after we bid our farewells.. haha. dearie, i hope we can last happily. <3

tmr after my tuition, we’re going to head down to bugis to shop for cny clothes! yay! okae la, i won’t really get to spend bcos i’ve already bought my cny clothes when i was in msia at kl last month i think. shall accompany the rest tho! nevertheless, i hope i can pop by TopShop to just window shop. hehe! i love the clothes at top shop and F21. recently i also bought a pair of black LACE leggings from Topshop. damn nice! i haven’t got the chance to wear it tho. hmm.. maybe we ought to go to orchard 313 ?? there’re a lot of female shops there. the boys will be bored tho. keke.

okae well, time to slee early! i hope i’ll have time to re-read evelina! wheee! just read casually la. i love romance novels. i think that book ’s my newest addiction and i suppose i shall do my essay on that book =o

i’m Backies with Muackies. [ shivers ]

i think for this entire week, i am engulfed by the book Evelina, by Frances Burney. i admit it is a great book even though the plot is simple, because a lot of fantastic techniques are being employed in this novel. i’m not gonna talk about them here to dry u up, just maybe summarize a few..

- the way she successfully masters the epistolary technique is like WOW, because for every letter being written to and fro in the novel, it is being accounted for.

- the way the introduction begins with 2 outside ppl conversing on her life so that Evelina herself doesn’t need to talk about her own life like an idiot to us.

- the way we perceive life in London and some male impertinence, or lack of civility in other people, through her letters to her guardian.

i think it is really a great read if u love romance novels. the book was out in 1778 i believe, and the language is easy to understand. the book is sorta lengthy, i spent about 6-8 hours on it, but i can’t say i regretted it bcos i absolutely adore romance novels. what’s more, it’s not the horny type. there’s nothing horny about it at all. the love is pure.

so am i =p

yes!! i hope sch ends asap , in a blink of an eye tmr cos i’m damn tired now and i really want to meet up with people and play GF at the arcade. sighs, i miss everyone. this whole week i’ve just been busy with Evelina’s presentation for tmr. don’t even have time for much of other work.

this weekend i gotta study a bit also, SO SIAN RIGHT!

thankfully i dont have tuition on sun i think. just sat early afternoon, before we go shopping and play pool! wheee.

Evelina review?

dear sweet mew,

nowadays my life is so havoc. i have so many assignment datelines crashing down on me. three immediate ones:

1) lit presentation on friday about evelina

2) ICT essay by 22 feb

3) survey of brit lit essay by 22 feb also.

talkin about evelina.. i just finished reading this while baby’s asleep. i think i spent 3 days on it, or about 8 hours i guess? the book’s not hard to read, it’s just thick and wordy. but i’m glad i read it. simply love it till the end!

i felt so wretched when i had to put the book down, since lessons were starting, in the middle of Evelina’s abbrupt coldness towards Lord Orville. 1) How could i stop reading then?? 2) How could she do that? i know she was obeying orders, but she must have been as torn apart as i was.

another time i felt so sorrowful was because i had to put the book down , to give tuition, and this time it was when Evelina and Lord Orville has patched matters up, but then she was going to find her long-lost father.. imagine the pain wrenching through my heart when i had to GIVE THAT BOOK UP for some silly tutoring.. sighs. what a pain.

man! damn tragic! for me and for her!

dear sweet evelina. i know for sure that i can never be as gentle, sweet and timid as her. i think i’m awfully crude sometimes, less crude at other times, nothing like her. not ladylike at all. and timid? me? i’m no mouse..

so mayb i won’t be as lucky as Lord Orville who loved her with his heart and soul, and is so gentlemanly, but hey. i’m living in the 21st century and i have my dear sweet baby. i think it’s enough. hehe.

anw, i think i’m pretty heavily influenced by Evelina at the moment, and u’ll know i’ve fully fallen under Frances Burney’s spell if i start speaking and typing like her. the very beginning i start doing things like that is when i use the word ” hitherto “.

lotsa love. i’m now off to reading 2 books that talk about Evelina so that i can have more idea on what to present on friday. tata!

ps. just one small thing about GF: thanks for shin’s encouragement. it means a lot to me. and, i’ m not gonna give up my fighting spirit. i promise! shall just try and do my best, whether i can or not add any more points!

updates on changi village hotel

the birthday cake.

sorry for the late update. haha. wanna talk abt dearie’s bdae party.. i think it was a blast! even for jq and shin who came and left early.. i think they pretty much enjoyed it!

the swimming at the rooftop pool was awesome! tho initially we were a bit cold, we subsequently got used to the cold air at the roof top and started fooling and swimming around! heehee. i’m honoured by many good natured ppl who don’t care much abt body sized and joining us at the pool despite not being able to swim well! me neither actually! i used to be able to swim a lot better but now my standards have deteriorated bcos of my negligence to swim!

i think the cheese cake was soo sooo pretty [ see prev blog post ] but unfortuantely, not all of us are cheesecake fans! nevertheless, i think one slice of cheese cake per person won’t make anyone sick of it or pukey because well, it’s just one slice! sooo pretty! dearie said he loves the white chocolate roses. inspired by one of the bakerzine cakes that has chocolate roses sprinkled all over it!

i’m glad dearie loves the cake.

and the strawberry flan looks alot better than when i took a photo of it. unfortunately, it looks best real life and not in photos! the real -life strawberry flan is a WOW and even more WOW to taste when u finally start munching on it. i believe everyone agreed that it was a real treat!

even more of a real treat to eat two cakes [ the flan was more of a giant tart to me ] in one night eh!

sadly, jq and shin didnt get to stay for the strawberry flan. i’m sure they wud have loved it.

anw, apart from cakes eating, rooftop swimming, we wanted to visit the gym tho sadly none of us had the proper attire for it. we did use the jacuzzi tho, but not the steam room [ aww! ]

the buffet breakfast wasn’t worth it , to my honest opinion, but well, at least we tried it! my sorethroat prevented me from completely enjoying a meal!

while i was sleeping or lazying on the bed around at night pretendin to be sleeping, ken was alternating betwn playing stepmania or readin my book [ LOL ] . he mocked at my book at first but after that he read it. so ironic. haha bestie~

wanqi didn wan to slp so the rest of them entertained her by playing cards.

i didnt get to try monopoly so mayb i’ll play that with dearie another time. the card version. i think it’s damn cool.

i also didnt play dai di cos i dun really like gambling [ partially blamin my natural bad luck for that too ] so im glad i get to slp first on the big white warm bed.

oh and wenxuan left halfway, which was a huge pity to me bcos i was really glad when she told me she was gonna stay on initially..

2 of us [wq and kang ] were sorta pissed off at dearie’s snoring

while ken slept like a log with his exhilerated breathing speed [eheheheheheehehe ]

and qianhui talked to herself in her sleep [ even tho i didn know that ] .

everyone was amazed at my ability to slp next to dearie’s snore [ LOL ] ,

wq was pushed to the side of the bed without blanket and freezin, coupled with dearie’s loud snore =p [ bad combination ]

haha. but it was fun and funny.

at least dearie and others and enjoyed the 2d1n stay at changi village hotel. it’s really a nice place. not sleazy or wadever. i’m glad that everyone enjoyed it [ so to my knowledge at least] . the next time round probably wouldn’t be at changi village hotel anymore unless someone proposes that idea.

well, all in all, money well spent imo. love my baby!
